1. GLASS WALLS

The open plan boom has been around for almost 10years now and when it came about, it was expected to help workers be more integrated, improve teamwork and productivity. Later, it seems, it not only hinders creativity but it hinders productivity aswell. Solution? Glass walls. Glass office wall design encourages openness, integration yet allows for privacy.

2. COLOUR

Colour has been proven to have some brain stimulation effects. “Color impacts the brain because it can greatly affect our physiology, since it influences anxiety, pulse, blood flow and arousal,” Brain Based Biz, a branding blog reported. This could be a great benefit for creativity and an uplifted mood in the office.

3. FONT

The walls of an office can be very dull to walk into, pass by and fill everyday, when they are plain and dull. The use of Large Graphical Font on strategic areas in the office can spark ideas and encourage outward thinking. Such wording works even better when its put in the main corridors, boardrooms and rest rooms.

4. BLOCKED SPACES

The open plan, glass wall type of office can get a bit much for those who prefer privacy in-order to get productive or to think. Blocked or designated spaces within the office, in a different floor(if your building allows) can help those employees who find stimulation from others too much or get distracted often. These spaces can also help with small short meetings, or work as waiting areas for clients.

5. BRAINSTORM ROOMS

For a more specific way of catching ideas in real time is the ability to brainstorm. Teams that strategise together often work better and well together. Ideally an office should cater for such sessions by designating separate brainstorm rooms, properly designed to cultivate ideas, discussion, and planning of projects.
